What we believe . . . .

  • We believe in one God in three persons, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  • We believe that God the Father is the creator of all things and the provider of all our needs.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Lord Through his death on the cross and resurrection, he has purchased our redemption and secured for us forgiveness of sins, freedom from guilt, deliverance from the power
of sin, death, and evil, release from the punishment for sin and the promise of new, abundant, eternal life.
  • We believe the Holy Spirit calls, gathers, enlightens, and empowers us for holy living and faithful service
  • We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the authoritative and unfailing truth for faith and life.
  • We accept the ecumenical creeds (the Apostolic, the Nicene and the Athanasian) as true statements of Christian faith. In accordance with out Lutheran tradition, we accept the Unaltered Augsburg Confession and Luther's Small Catechism as true witnesses to the gospel
  • We believe that the whole human race has fallen into sin and that we are in a sinful state of being
  • We believe that salvation is only through Jesus Christ
  • We belive that Baptism unites us to the Body of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. We baptize people of all ages receiving God's promise of mercy and grace.
  • We believe that in Holy Communion Jesus Christ is really present as we receive the body and blood of our Lord for the forgiveness of sins.
  • We believe that the Holy Sprit's gifts are operative today in the life of believers and the Church.
  • We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ with Jesus as Head and we are subject to His Lordship in all things. Christ will come again as he promised in the resurrection of believers to eternal life.
