Greenfield Lutheran Church Council Meeting
Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Tim Ostrom at 7:00 PM

Consent Agenda:
Motion to approve council minutes for meeting held April 12, 2023, by Stephanie Silvers, second by
Charlie Todd. Motion approved
Committee Reports:
Stewardship:
The committee is considering a request to change the name of the Committee to “Abundance
and Generosity”
The committee is bringing back coffee and fellowship after services. This is in conjunction with a fund raising project to sell coffee from third world countries. The first 1 was held on 5/6/23, following confirmation and the last day of Sunday school till fall
The next 1 will be on 5/20/2023, following senior class graduate recognition and every two weeks throughout the summer. Drucie Milne and Susan Haugland will be helping with serving.
Pastor reported that the church is exempt for needing a food license for any fund raising.
Property Committee:
Shingle project on parsonage will begin next week. Discussion on should we replace the gutters at this time. Council requested the property committee look into this and get some quotes.
No other Committee reports
Financial report: Giving is $7700 ahead of this time in 2022.
There is approximately $96,000 in undesignated funds, of which $62,000 (Estimated bill for last window repair project) is committed. A question asked on the increase in the amount of the Utility Bills for April, Dave will check with Sandy.
At this time it we have not needed to access the bank operating loan
New Business:
Discussion on adult bible study after church, schedule not yet set.
Pastor has ordered study books to use for this, cost $8 for anyone who wants one.
Discussion on ways to get the committees active again
Discussion on possible getting some circles active again
Discussion on replacing the toy bags that were available for kids during service, Pastor will check.
Discussion on replacing a few of the long tables with lighter ones. Will check on costs and review
later in summer
Youth retreat June 2-4 in cities
Ecumenical service in the Park on July 2 with Brad Boice.
Pastor will be attending a Pastoral conference in Arizona, in July
