Visions
As the year 2022 begins, take a moment to reflect on your spiritual journey during this past year; where did it lead you? Now ask yourself, where do I want to go from here? Do you have a vision that will foster health and wellness in your life? Will you seek and find the balance of mind, body, and spirit that is integral to your happiness, or will you settle for less? I have often heard that if you fail to plan…you plan to fail. Granted, all the planning in the world will not guarantee a happy and easy life because ultimately it is God who is in charge.
Creating a vision for our life is important and will take some thinking. As Christians, our vision includes the ability to see God’s presence, to perceive God’s power, and to focus on God’s plan for our lives. Can you identify changes that will improve your health and wellness and allow you to enjoy your blessings every day? What do you want your life to look like in this coming year? Can you see it? Vision is the ability to see your life plan. The process of creating a vision will motivate you to think more clearly and make it happen. Striving and maintaining a God-centered vision for our lives will enhance all aspects of our health and well-being; spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional and social. So, head into the New Year with your own personal vision for health. Create it, think it, practice it and pray about it. It is the healthy thing to do.
Health is defined as a ground state, a state of wholeness which excludes nothing; it is lodged in the spirit, it is subsumed by spirit. And the knowledge of health is made possible by spiritual awareness. (Dossey)
